Students of the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (MAS) are bronze medalists of «InfoMatrix-2017"

The final of the international contest of computer projects "InfoMatrix 2017" has taken place from April 27th till May 1st in Bucharest (Romania) at the International Computer School. The competition was attended by 700 authors of developments from 45 countries of the world. The projects were presented in five categories: programming, information engineering, robotics, computer art, short film.
Students of Kyiv MAS won bronze medals: Pavlo Mikush, a pupil of the 10th grade of Kyiv secondary school “School of Externs" with the authoring “Universal Robotic Assistant for People with Visual Disabilities”, Igor Zhukovskyy and Mykhailo Koreshkov, the 10th  grade students of the Kyiv Polytechnic Lyceum NTU "KPI" with the project "QTHING".

Projects’ presentation was held in English. In accordance with the conditions of the contest, students presented their inventions twice: they presented the projects near the self-made stands and presented them in a separate room in front of 6 judges while answering their questions. After returning to Ukraine achievements of young inventors have been highly rated in domestic technical community.

Therefore prototype of Universal Robotic Assistant for People with Visual Disabilities, created by Pavlo Mikush, immediately joined a prestigious gallery of innovations of HUB 4.0. The uniqueness of the project is that the robot helps people with visual disabilities to overcome city obstacles: stairs, kerbs, crosswalks. The model, collected of Lego MINDSTORMS EV3, has a GPS sensor and access to the Internet, which allows the owner to pre-build the route and navigate the city without a cane or a companion.
